The Answers to Your COVID-19 Funding Process Questions

How does this current funding relate to the last set of Covid-19 funding for our schools?

Answer: Last time, we had about 13Bil and now 54Bil for K-12, but then another estimated 170B (120B for k-12) came for schools in the next few weeks – President signed Thursday. Most through ESSER (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief) and GEER (Governors' Emergency Education Relief). The first one was ESSER and GEER, and the second is ESSER II and GEER II, so the third should be ESSER III and GEER III in the coming weeks – Schools did not use the first total amount because of many reasons – we need to make sure we use it all now.

Where can we find this, and how did they figure out the amount per state.

Answer: Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSA) per state and districts and many of the state's application sites. (some have not posted their application yet, but many have, but you can get there from this site to at least see the status of your state and district level of funds, Go TO:

When do we have to have our applications to the state?

Answer: Varies, but most must be in by July 30, 2021, and some as early as notifying your state by the middle of this month. The state must obligate their funding by 30 Sep 2021. Look for your state requirements now; the states also vary on how many years your application can be for somewhere between 2 and 5 years.
